GPS Caddie

A gps caddie is a term used to generically describe a gps handheld device specially designed to assist golfers with distance information while playing on the golf course.

These devices use gps technology which we’ve become rather familiar with in our automobiles over the past few years.  As those units accurately guide us from place to place showing exact directions, so does a golf caddie provide directions on the golf course.

It’s no longer a guessing game when teeing off.  With a golf caddie you can know the exact distance to the green, hazards along the way, and bunkers protecting the green.  Knowing this information along with how far you personally hit each club, helps you to make the right club selection and get the distance right.

Some golf gps devices, like the Golf Logix GPS 8 provides you with post-shot information such as how far you hit the ball on your last shot.  If you’re not sure about your club distances, this will be a priceless tool.

In future posts, I will be reviewing the various gps caddie devices available and also interesting articles on this wonderful technology.
